Wisdom and Praise
Psalms 17, 47, 77, 107, 137 and Proverb 17
Today’s readings have much in common. Prayer for deliverance from wrongful accusations lays the groundwork for Prayerful remembrances to strengthen our faith. There are beautiful declarations of God’s love and faithfulness when the psalmist has been in distress, or historically.
Then there’s proverbs, with it’s tidbits on how we can have the Character of Christ – godly character – or wise character, whichever way you want to look at it.

Psalm 77 Prayer during distress
- Ps 77:1-2 I cry aloud to God,
aloud to God, and He will hear me.
2 I sought the Lord in my day of trouble.
My hands were continually lifted up
all night long;
