I have been eating fast food salads for the last month…sometimes twice a day.
And I have been losing weight.
But a meeting with a Personal Trainer got me wondering about those salads.

a star for each criterium met
<13g fat
<4.5g sat fat
<50mg cholesterol
3+g fiber
<1000 g sodium
There aren't many fast food salads out there that line up with the criteria that
is set up in this article. The goal is 5 stars.
Chick-Fil-A salads are NOT researched in this article - so I did that.
Chick-Fil-A gives you the ability to build your meal and see the nutrition on
the web page.
http://www.chick-fil-a.com/Food/Meal#?
To choose the Chargrilled and Fruit Salad, with Berry Balsamic Vinaigrette, it
comes in as a 4 star salad...with only Cholesterol falling above the criteria -
55 instead of 50.
8g fat
4 g sat fat
55g cholesterol
790 sodium
34 carbs
4g fiber
22 protein
26 sugar
If you want to make it even better...remove the salad dressing!
Comparing Wendy's Berry Almond Salad to their nutrition counter at
http://www.wendys.com/food/Nutrition.jsp, you realize that Wendy's Salads are
WAY out of the criteria range!
The PT was right...eating fast food salads is not good for you...but if youlive
in a trailer like I do, and want to eat raw foods, but don't want them to rot in
the frige...Chick-Fil-A is an option....a really GOOD option!
Just - buyer beware!
